"Stars Falling..."

Introduction

Freya: The Starfall is the first multiplayer tactical RPG to blend unique character progression and squad-building with intense, strategic PvP battles—set in a living, dynamic fantasy world where no two players’ characters or journeys are ever the same.

Crafted by industry veterans behind League of Legends and Diablo, and developed by Japanese multimedia studio Rosentica in partnership with Immutable, Freya introduces a new era of gameplay—where players shape the world through their actions, develop uniquely generated heroes, and compete in a living world that evolves with them.

Freya is the heartbeat of Rosentica’s expansive fantasy IP, spanning manga, novels, music, animation, games, and collectibles. As the most powerful medium for immersive storytelling and emotional attachment, Freya: The Starfall is the flagship gateway into a rich, ever-evolving universe where every playthrough is personal, strategic, and unforgettable.

Challenge & User Needs

In many games, every player ends up with the same experiences, characters, and lineups. The story, progression, and gacha systems feel repetitive, like tasks to complete rather than experiences to enjoy. There’s little sense of ownership, no real uniqueness or personalization depth, and no freedom to play the game in their own way. Players feel like they’re building someone else’s team and playing someone else's game—not their own. Players crave emotional attachment and a sense of belonging—to their characters, to the world, and to the game itself.

Core Needs:

  • Dynamic, ever-evolving gameplay experience—one that isn’t pre-scripted or repetitive, but instead shaped by their own actions and decisions where each run feels fresh.

  • A sense of exclusivity and belonging over their truly unique characters and squads that no other players have

  • Tactical and emotional satisfaction from using their uniquely developed characters and team to defeat others

  • Gacha system that keeps every pull truly different, exciting, and impactful, instead of feeling repetitive

  • Deep customization depth in character development instead of playing the same way as everyone else

  • Strategic depth in team building and tactical planning allows players to continuously theorycraft, experiment, and optimize in an ever-evolving meta against other players

  • Strategic, competitive, and skill-based PvP environments that satisfy players’ drive to win, fuel their competitive spirit, and deliver the satisfaction and motivation to keep playing

Solution & Product-Market Fit

Freya directly addresses these unmet needs through a system built for depth, personalization, replayability, and emotional attachment:

  • Freya embeds AI simulation into the fabric of its world design, character evolution, and narrative logic, to make players feel like they are stepping into a living, breathing fantasy world. Freya leverages multi-agent simulation, ideology modeling, and dynamic worldbuilding to create a REAL fantasy universe.

  • Each character in Freya is summoned with randomized skills and stat growth—ensuring no two are ever the same. Players gain immense satisfaction and strategic enjoyment from studying and optimizing how to develop each uniquely different character into their most powerful form—creating a genuine sense of exclusivity and personal ownership.

  • Victory in Freya isn’t just about power levels—it’s about strategic mastery. Players experience deep emotional satisfaction from overcoming others using teams they’ve personally built and refined from the ground up.

  • Freya features MMORPG-scale talent trees for every character, allowing players to develop their characters in highly personalized ways. No two builds are alike, and players are free to forge paths that suit their playstyle, strategy to win, or narrative preference.

  • Strategic Team Building & Endless Theorycrafting: Freya’s mechanics reward creativity and experimentation. Players can continuously refine their builds, formations and tactics to stay ahead of the evolving meta, making the process of theorycrafting and optimization a great satisfaction.

  • The highly competitive PvP systems test player skill, strategic foresight, and reactive decision-making against other player’s uniquely built characters and team. These intense battles ignite player’s competitive drive, reward mastery, and offer both the tension and satisfaction that keep players addicted and constantly craving more through a cycle of strategic depth, emotional highs, and ever-changing gameplay.

  • Painterly Fantasy Visuals and Frame-by-Frame Retro-Style Pixel Animations make player immersed and emotionally attached to the fantasy world with their unique “truly mine” characters.

Why Freya Is Unlike Anything Else

Freya: The Starfall is not just another fantasy RPG — at the heart of Freya lies an AI-powered ideology grid that governs every character, faction, and even the world state. Player decisions influence not just personal outcomes, but the political, moral, and strategic alignment of the entire world. No playthrough is ever the same. Every player's decision rewrites the world. Every character and faction evolves dynamically.

Think: Baldur’s Gate — but freely ever-freely-evolving, alive and on-chain.

Addictive Gameplay & Unmatched Strategic Depth

Freya doesn’t just offer deep and addictive mechanics — it makes players feel like they are building something truly personal. Every hero becomes radically unique through layers of randomized skill draws, from a hybrid pool of class-based and character-exclusive skills, alongside five distinct stat growth levels, making each hero's combat identity distinct from the start.

From there, a sprawling talent system for each class allows for thousands of permutations — with powerful synergies emerging from unconventional combinations. No two players’ builds are ever the same — even with the same hero.

It’s precisely this sense of personal ownership—rooted in randomness and the guarantee of never getting the same build as another player—that fuels an unusually strong desire to gacha (recruit). Community feedback and internal test data confirm this: over 98% of crystals were spent on recruitment rather than any other use.

Freya isn’t about collecting characters — it’s about forging your own.

A True "This One Is Mine" Experience

While most RPGs push players toward meta builds and tier lists, Freya flips that on its head. The game encourages experimentation, ownership, and pride in your own creations.

  • Your Freya might be a graceful duelist, dancing along the frontlines and toying with enemies.

  • Mine is a one-hit executioner — no warning, no mercy.

  • And someone else's? A beacon of hope — the captain of the Sunflower, shielding her crew and leading her comrades to victory.

With each character featuring a distinct combat style, battlefield role, and strategic function, Freya offers a highly flexible team-building system where formations are shaped by synergy, counterplay, and deep psychological mind games. Through arena battles, rogue-like expeditions, and AI-driven narrative events, players clash against each other’s handcrafted squads — players say that the thrill of battling others with their own uniquely built heroes and formations — and proving whose squad comes out on top — is the most addictive part of the game.

It’s not just about who you roll — it’s about what you make of them.

The Craftsmanship of Art & Worldbuilding Everyone’s Talking About

In every corner of the community—from streamers to strategy guides—players can’t stop talking about the art and worldbuilding. It’s become one of the must-mention aspects of the game, with many expressing their admiration — an outcome shaped by a team of perfectionist craftsmen who refuse to compromise on detail or quality. Character illustrations and designs are not just visually striking, but narratively rich: no templates, no reused molds—each character is built from the ground up with a complex history, distinct motivations, and a soul of their own.

In pursuit of visual excellence, we chose not to use Spine or other skeletal animation tools. Instead, we hand-painted every single frame of character sprites, frame by frame—despite the tremendous effort—because we believe every movement, no matter how small or overlooked, deserves to look and feel alive and stunning.

The same philosophy applies to equipment: even items players may never zoom in to examine are drawn to the finest detail. Every piece is rendered with care, texture, and individuality. Over 1,000 skill and talent icons have been uniquely illustrated, each designed to represent its effect and lore precisely, giving players a visual language that’s both beautiful and intuitive.

We refuse to compromise on art or experience. No shortcut is worth diluting the emotion we want players to feel. And while we've come far, we are still pushing ourselves to do better, go further, and deliver something that resonates on every level—from the first frame to the final farewell.

Most notably, with only 40% of the full game content enabled, we received tremendous interest in in-game purchases (Crystals, Skill Reroll Orbs, etc.) These signals reaffirm our belief: Freya: The Starfall is a world players want to be part of, invest in, and grow with. The metrics highlight not only the strength of our gameplay systems and customization depth, exceptional product-market fit, but also our ability to capture and retain a highly engaged player base, robust stickiness, and monetization scalability.

Dual Path: Web2 Scale + Web3 Depth

Freya follows a hybrid distribution model — launching through traditional Web2 platforms like Steam, iOS, and Android to maximize reach, while seamlessly integrating Web3 infrastructure to empower players beyond gameplay.

The Web2 path ensures broad accessibility and polished user experience, with high-quality art, deep gameplay systems, and mass-market compatibility.

The Web3 path unlocks a new dimension of ownership, governance, and economic participation:

  • Shape the in-game economy, with $FREYA powering upgrades, trading, and AI-driven simulation access.

  • Influence world trajectories through on-chain governance and ideological alignment. Key world events, faction balances, and narrative directions can be shaped by token holder decisions — allowing players to be not just participants, but architects of the universe.

  • Participate in long-term ownership, with characters, progress, and decisions recorded across seasons in a persistent, evolving world.

Gateway to Rosentica's Expansive Cross-Media Fantasy IP

Freya: The Starfall is the flagship entry point into Rosentica’s cross-media fantasy IP — a sweeping universe crafted by industry veterans and brought to life through games, manga, novels, music, animation, and collectibles. More than a game, Freya: The Starfall is the most powerful medium for fan acquisition and immersion into a living, evolving world.

This is a fully-fledged fantasy IP, designed for long-term fanbase and franchise development:

  • Official serialization on Shonen Jump

  • Audience-driven visual novel: Chapter of Crow — 10 beautifully illustrated episodes (~40–60 minutes read)

  • Music & MV: The First EP “Fine feat. Biya” released with the acclaimed Korean artist Biya, with more tracks in production

  • Mass-market visibility: Billboards in Akihabara, fan creations, convention showcases, cosplays, and content creator collaborations

Freya is not just a game you play — it's a world you shape, a story you join, and a universe you co-own.
