# Leveling

* The maximum level a mercenary can reach is 40.
* **Experience**: The experience required to level up increases linearly. The experience needed to progress from level 1 to level 2 starts at 200, while the experience required to reach level 40 from level 39 is 4,000.
* Leveling up a mercenary consumes **Emblems**.
* **Leveling Rewards**: With each level gained, a mercenary receives one free talent point and two attribute points that can be allocated as desired.
